Verse 1
Butterfly, butterfly fly on past
Past my window to the oceans vast
Stop at the ship with black flag flying high
Seek out the man with a patch on his eye

Let softest wing brush the palm of his hand
A kiss from his sweet love in a foreign land
Then fly to his ear and whisper for me
The lover’s lullaby for those at sea

Chorus 1
At the dawning of night when the sea you breathe
Watch my love for vision or dream
For the sparkling glow of the stars is my smile
With moonlight I’ll rock you to sleep for awhile
And know when you wake on the lonely sea
My heart skips a beat where yours should be
My heart skips a beat where yours should be

Verse 2
Butterfly, butterfly fly on back
Back to her window from the oceans vast
Come to the ledge when the sun is high
Dance for the maiden with sapphire eyes

Let gentlest wing trace the smile of her lips
A kiss from her own love on blackest of ships
Then fly to her ear and whisper for me
The lover’s lullaby from those at sea

Chorus 2
At the falling of day when the sea I breath
Sweet visions of you haunt my memory
So watch my love with a restless eye
For the coming of sails at the fading of night
For when I awake on the lonely sea
My heart skips a beat where yours should be
My heart skips a beat where yours should be

    1. Tina,

I don’t have sheet music for it, but I can write up a sheet with the lyrics and chords on it. Think you or your pianist can figure out the general feel of it by ear? It’s pretty simple. 🙂 Just the chords broken into arpeggios. I can try to send you a chord sheet this week if you think that will work. 🙂
